From the lists of Copied or Duplicated files on your computer, unique files are original files. Duplicated files are made sometimes because of bugs or viruses in your computer. Also, they come into existence when you copy similar files multiple times.
What are unique files?
These files are original. However, the computer sometimes contains duplicated files. Identifying unique files on your own might become a nightmare if you don’t know the procedure. We will discuss how to overcome this issue and help you identify the files you are looking for on your computer.
How do identify unique files?
With Every File Tool (EFT), your life will become a lot easier. First Download EFT. Then, Run it from the start menu and click the Unique File tab.
After a Successful Download, follow these simple steps.
Step 1: Click “Add” to add your specified folder. You can add multiple folders as well.
Step 2: Select “Everything” if you want to process every kind of file. Select “Custom Selection” to select images, audio, video, documents, or archive to process the files accordingly.
Step 3: Click on the “Start Scan” button.
After clicking Start Scan, EFT will bring every unique file from the selected folder.
Also, you will see the number of total files and processed files. This whole process takes a few secs to identify unique files among duplicated files.
As you can see below, it detects 1084 unique files from a total of 1696 files, the result showing on the bottom left corner of the screen. You can also see the Preview Area section on the bottom right corner of the screen.
Step 4: You can select files one by one or select all. Then click “Select Action” to Copy checked files, move selected files, or delete selected files.
Note: It is essential to know when you delete files using EFT, the files will not go to your PC’s Recycle bin. So make sure when deleting unnecessary files, you know that they won’t come back unless you have their backup stored on your PC.
You can also Export Results to HTML or CSV files.
